Welcome to AFP Bluegrass

Welcome to the AFP Bluegrass Chapter website! We are committed to supporting development professionals throughout the central Kentucky region. Our chapter has over 100 active members, who serve as development directors, fundraising consultants, grant writers, volunteer fundraisers, foundation executives, and other individuals dedicated to fundraising and philanthropy. 

If you are a development professional, a volunteer involved in the philanthropic process, interested in fundraising as a career, or just want to know more about AFP, we welcome you!

AFP Bluegrass Chapter hosts monthly luncheon program meetings normally on the third Wednesday of January, February, March, April, May, June, August, September, and October. Members and guests have the opportunity to network and learn best practices from other skilled nonprofit leaders. Educational opportunities are provided through regular luncheon meetings, National Philanthropy Day, and audio conferences

Mar 16 - Major Gifts Officer
The Major Gift Officer will be an energetic, gregarious and passionate fundraising professional responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, securing and stewarding major gifts for Life Adventure Center’s innovative and life-changing outdoor programs. Operating within a “small shop” advancement team, the ideal candidate will work closely with and report to the Executive Director. He/she will have experience identifying and building long term relationships with donors and community partners. He/she will possess a proven track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and closing four to six figure gifts. He/she will exhibit a passion for the impact outdoor adventure programming can have on at-risk kids, veterans and adults recovering from trauma. Mar 13 - Donor Communications Assistant
Reporting to the Director of Donor Relations and Communications, this grant-funded position creates multi-channel messaging that supports the planned giving and annual fund programs at Berea College. A member of the Donor Relations and Communications team, s/he provides creative services and content support as needed, including appeals, advertisements, donor reports, acknowledgements, case statements, and foundation proposals as required. Mar 13 - Planned Giving Officer
The grant-funded position of Planned Giving Officer will advance the College's bequest and life-income gift programs by qualifying, cultivating, and stewarding bequest and life-income gift prospects/donors, primarily through face-to-face visits and personal correspondence.
